Big fire is in full swing near the Souda Naval Station in Chania.
Due to the uncontrollable dimensions, the authorities decided to evacuate the station staff. Settlements, a hospital, and a school were evacuated.

A strong force of the Fire Service has been thrown into the battle with the flames, while thick smoke has covered the wider area which is also visible from the National Road.
To extinguish the fire attempt 55 firefighters, with two teams of hikers and 17 vehicles
EL.AS men are at the scene regulating the traffic of vehicles.
According to the fire brigade, a message was sent from 112 in order to evacuate the settlement of Naustatmos.
