The robot Sophia, among other things, answered questions from journalists that had already been sent, in order to prepare and be properly answered by… herself
Cretans… separatists. The local radio station 98.4 is talking about a traction “blunder” regarding the AI robot “Sophia” that was presented yesterday in the indoor arena of Halicarnassus, in Dyo Aorakia, where it was hosted as part of the 3rd Robotics Olympiad.
The event was organized by the Hellenic Educational Robotics Organization in collaboration with the Ministry of Rural Development, the Region of Crete and the Development Authority of Heraklion, which also covered the cost of the presentation and Q&A of the Sophia robot, approximately 15 thousand euros for 4 hours of presence according to station.
The Sophia robot, among other things, also answered journalists’ questions that had already been sent, in order to be prepared and properly answered by her… herself following appropriate commands from her operators! But when the robot Sophia began to position herself for Cretan nutrition, in the context of a campaign for Cretan agricultural nutrition, and to say “what a blessed place the island is and that it is self-sufficient everywhere, it said verbatim that, “Crete could have been an … autonomous state”!
The Radio 98.4 broadcast quoted the relevant passage and made the relevant disparaging comments about the traction blunder:
