Helping our financially weaker brothers was the Holy Metropolis of Nea Ionia, Philadelphia, Heraklion and Chalcedonthrough the solidarity network of social and charitable actions it has developed in its region, thus relieving a large number of families ahead of the great Easter holiday.

His Eminence Metropolitan Mr. Gabriel visited on Monday the Holy Church of Agios Georgios in Nea Ionia and on Tuesday the Holy Church of Agia Efimia in Nea Chalkidonos, where with the kind sponsorship of the members of the General Philanthropic Fund of the Holy Metropolis, the President of the EPO Mr. Panagiotis Baltakou, Mr. Ioannis Retsos, Mr. Emmanuel Karamolegkos, the General Manager of Aegean Baltic Bank Mr. Theodoros Afthonidis, the Regional Councilor of Attica Mr. Eleftherias Moraitakis and the Parents’ Association of Athens College, the members of “All Together We Can”, by Mr. Konstantinos Tassoulas (Getfoods Ltd) and the Managing Director of the Central Vegetable Market of Athens, Mr. Apostolos Apostolakos, offered 580 “Packages of Love” to our needy brothers with a significant amount of food and other basic necessities.

The delivery of the parcels was carried out by His Holiness himself, accompanied by clergy and volunteers from the social structures of the Holy Metropolis.
