ELAS proceeded with the arrest of one more person involved in the case of the criminal organization and the murder of the police officer Giorgos Lyggeridis on the morning of Maundy Thursday.
The arrested person, who allegedly belongs to the seven leading members of the criminal organization, was arrested at his friend’s house in Agia Varvara where he was hiding.
It is recalled that the case file includes the criminal activity of a total of 167 defendants, while before the investigators, in a marathon process on Saturday and Sunday, 63 defendants were acquitted, while on Friday those accused of drugs were acquitted and three of them were sent to prison .
A total of 12 defendants were sentenced to pre-trial detention for the criminal organization, some of whom, based on the case file, have a leading role in the structure of the organized fans and are also attributed with moral responsibility in the murder of the police officer in incidents that they caused outside the closed stadium in Rentis on December 7.
The rest of the defendants were released with restrictive conditions, which include a mandatory appearance at a police station and a ban on watching matches and participating in sports associations.
