Ambrosios accuses the Archbishop because he met with the Prime Minister who brought to the Parliament the legalization of the marriage of same-sex couples
Attack on Archbishop Hieronymus by formerly of Kalavryta and Aegialia Ambrosioswho accuses him of having violated the rules of the Church and met with him Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
Mr. Ambrosios was annoyed, as he says, about the first meeting after the law on the marriage of same-sex couples that Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis had with Archbishop Hieronymos! Together they visited structures of the Archdiocese of Athens in Delesi and Oropos, daycare centers and a gerontology center. Their joint appearance had a clear political symbolism, due to the reactions that the marriage of same-sex couples has caused in the Church and in the ranks of the faithful.
The former Metropolitan of Kalavryton accuses the Archbishop of amnestying “contemptors of the laws of the Gospel”, accepting the legalization of gay marriage as normal, and “opposing the laws of God who sent fire from heaven and burned Sodom and Gomorrah”.
And then I ask: “By what right, Your Beatitude, do you commit this moral crime, that is, to embrace the opponent of the moral law, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and to write even the words of the Apostle Paul on your old shoes?”
Mr. Ambrosios then goes to the “indictment” as “ecclesiastical Prosecutor and points out to Mr. Ieronymos the following “offences”:
A. Fraternization with Kyriakos Mitsotakis who legalized gay marriage.
B. You recommend, with your words, the “collaboration” of the Church with the current Mitsotakis government and the other enemies of our Church.
C. With everything you do, the Christians shout: “The stronghold of Orthodox Greece has fallen under Archbishop Hieronymus the 2nd”!
But he goes on to one more issue, that of the maternity allowance… and homosexuals: “… As you know, on Wednesday, April 17, the application platform for the maternity allowance was opened. And all of a sudden, there appeared … a provision, which also includes homosexuals!”! And he asks him what he did about it, while he accuses him that in the case of the Niki politician who slapped the ND MP in Kavala, he took a stand stating: “The Church loves and does not take revenge, said the Archbishop about the attack, which was received by a MP in a church , because he voted for “impious legislation”. To comment: “With the tail in the legs, Hieronymos to Mitsotakis”.
Finally, he states: “Ecclesiastical officials, either out of respect for your venerable person or out of fear of sanctions, or out of politeness, do not speak and do not express themselves. So you, undisturbed now, constantly carry out acts and actions that constitute the crime of treason! I experienced much mental agitation in thinking whether I should address you with this letter. And while questioning, troubled and praying, great ecclesiastical figures of holiness came to my mind which demonstrated a dynamic behavior towards some despisers of God’s laws, such as St. Nicholas and St. Ambrose. I remind you that the Church teaches love but does not pardon sin. For the above reason I beg you to change your attitude and correct the words you often quote.
