Diego Sacilotto, former Masterchef, expands gastronomic empire in ZN with four new restaurants

Chef Diego Sacilotto, champion of the fourth season of Masterchef Profissionais, in 2022, is close to completing 11 open houses under his command, all in the northern region of São Paulo. From an Argentine bar to a pastry shop, he opens at least three locations this year. The last one — for now — is for 2025.

There are now seven restaurants in operation: Bocca Cucina, Galpão da Mamma, La Crosta Forneria, Pizza e Pizza’s, Pizzaria Meime, Sargento Garcia and Seu Manuel. The sequence of new openings begins in July, when the Argentine bar Martín Carbón is scheduled to open.

Months later, between November and December, the opening of the Little Mamma bakery and rotisserie is on Sacilotto’s calendar. At the end of this year, a snack bar — which has not yet been named — should begin operations. In 2025, he plans to open a pizzeria in São Paulo.

July: Argentine bar Martín Carbón

The bar is a new experience, as the chef says. “We have always done restaurants. Now it will be a bar with cocktails. But we will also have a typical Argentine menu, such as parrilla, made with quality meat”, he says.

November/December: Little rotisserie and confectionery Mamma

The idea of ​​this new restaurant is to have a little bit of everything from other restaurants, for customers to buy and finish the dish at home. Despite this, there will be its own menu, and it will be possible to have a coffee or try a sweet treat on site.

December: snack bar (not yet named) with diverse menu

According to the chef, the diner will have an ‘Italian-American style, with a New York soul’. The intention is to have breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. “My goal is for it to work like that bakery that does everything. Opening at 7am and closing at midnight.” He adds that the menu will include coffees, foccacias, pizza dough, pastrami sandwiches, salads and cakes.

2025: pizzeria in São Paulo

This is Diego Sacilotto’s fifth pizzeria. The building chosen to house it is being built, so there is no scheduled opening date. The difference with this one, as he explains, is the appreciation of São Paulo pizza, since, in recent years, the delicacy has been ‘demonized’. “I’m a defender of Neapolitan pizza, but São Paulo pizza deserves it too. This place is an attempt to recover it, but with a more modern look. The location is also a differentiator, as it is more comprehensive for those who are not from the North zone “, it says.
