In the area of Nea Ionia, by the Nea Ionia Security Department of the Northeast Attica Security Sub-Directorate, an adult and a minor were arrested, against whom a case file was filed for resistance, arson and explosion by complicity.
Police officers of the Attica Security Directorate proceeded on the night of Resurrection to arrest seven people as during checks they were found in possession of a number of explosive and incendiary materials as well as quantities of firecrackers and flares.
In particular, according to the Police, in the Neo Kosmos area, a man was arrested by the State Security Sub-Directorate for trespassing and possessing and manufacturing explosive and incendiary materials, as he was in possession of a Molotov bomb, which he threw to the ground as soon as he saw the police. At the same time, a total of 8 adults and 3 minors were brought in by the same service as well as by the State Security Department of the Athens Security Sub-Directorate.

The two arrested were located by police officers of the DI.AS team. in the courtyard of a school to have placed two plastic barrels with flammable liquid, which were burning and feeding the fire with smaller plastic bottles, causing explosions and flames.
At the sight of the police officers, the two defendants tried to escape, while they resisted their arrest, kicking the policemen’s legs.
The following were found and confiscated in their possession and on the school premises:
11 remains of burnt bottles,
3 bottle caps and cylinder cap,
2 cell phones and
lighter.
Furthermore, a case file was filed against the minor’s mother for neglecting the supervision of a minor.
In the area of Glyfada, a minor was arrested by police officers of the State Security Department of the Southeast Attica Security Sub-Directorate, against whom a case file was filed for attempted arson-explosion, manufacture and possession of explosive-incendiary materials, violation of the law on flares and fireworks, as well and the restrictions on the transportation of flares, sparklers and pyrotechnic children’s safes and taking measures to prevent risks from the burning of sparklers and pyrotechnic children’s safes.
In his possession, were found and confiscated:
-8 190 g butane bottles (gas lighters), of which 5 of them with two firecrackers attached to each lighter with insulating tape, one gas lighter with three firecrackers attached with insulating tape, one gas lighter with smoke generator attached with insulating tape and one gas alone,
-2 plastic bottles of alcohol, containing a flammable liquid, with 8 firecrackers taped to them with insulating tape,
paper roll of insulation tape,
-small plastic bottle, containing flammable liquid, with 2 firecrackers attached to it with insulating tape,
-lighter,
-3 naval flares and
-9 firecrackers.
As noted by ELAS, 2 more minors were brought along with the minor, while a case file was also filed against his mother for neglecting the supervision of a minor.
In the area of Agioi Anargyro, the State Security Department of the Western Attica Security Sub-Directorate brought 5 adults and a minor, while the Agioi Anargyro Security Department arrested an adult citizen for possessing and manufacturing explosive and incendiary materials, who possessed 2 launchers with 16 firecrackers .
At the same time, following a check carried out by police officers of the Agioi Anargyro Security Department on a vehicle in which 2 adult citizens were riding, they found 6 firecrackers and 2 bottles with flammable liquid, to which they had attached a firecracker with a fuse, while they were found in their possession of 0.5 grams of Indian cannabis and homemade cannabis cigarette.
A case file was filed against them for possession and manufacture of explosive and incendiary materials in complicity and violation of the drug law.
Finally, during checks, the following explosives were found:
in the courtyard of a school, in the area of Acharna, OPKE police officers found: 9 plastic bottles containing petrol with a firecracker (Molotov) stuck on them, 3 plastic bottles containing petrol, 4 unexploded firecrackers and detonated gas, which were collected and transferred to the relevant Security Department and
in the area of Glyfada, by police security measures, 12 bottles containing flammable liquid were found next to a holy temple.
