Less than a month is left for the end of classes for middle schools and high schools, as well as for the opening day of the 2024 National Examinations, with the candidates already entering the final stretch of their preparation.

More specifically, the last bell of classes will be heard on May 17 in high schools and on May 29 in high schools in the territory. In addition, GEL and EPAL candidates will be examined in the first course of the All-Hellenic Examinations on May 31 and 30, respectively.

Internal school exams and high school exams

According to the planning of the Ministry of Education, the end date of high school courses has been set for May 17. Thus, the internal exams for high school A and B will be held from May 20 to June 14, 2024. June 21 has been set as the final date for issuing results.

For the students of the 3rd high school, the final exams will be held between May 20-27, with the deadline for issuing results on Wednesday, May 29, 2024.

As far as high schools are concerned, the end date of classes has been set for May 29 and the promotion and graduation exams are scheduled to be held between June 3-17, 2024.

When do primary schools and kindergartens close?

Classes for the youngest students will continue for about another month, as the school year in the territory’s kindergartens and primary schools will end on June 14, 2024.

Beginning of the Panhellenic Courts at the end of May

Regarding the GEL exam schedule, as mentioned, they will begin on May 31, 2024 with the General Education, Modern Greek Language and Literature course. Then, on Tuesday, June 4, the exams will be held for Ancient Greek (Humanities Orientation Group), Mathematics (O.P. Positive Studies and Economics and Informatics Studies) and Biology (O.P. Health Studies).

On Thursday, June 6, candidates will be examined in Latin (O.P. Humanities), Chemistry (O.P. Positive Studies and Health Studies) and Informatics (O.P. Economics and Informatics Studies).

There will be a gap in exams, due to the holding of the European Elections on June 9 and thus, the exams of the nationwide examined courses will be completed on Wednesday, June 12, with the courses: History (O.P. Humanities), Physics (O.P. of Positive Studies and Health Studies), Economics (O.P. of Economics and Informatics Studies).

Accordingly, the Panhellenic program for EPAL candidates is as follows: Beginning on Thursday, May 30, 2024 with the New Greek course. Then, on June 1, candidates will be tested in Mathematics (Algebra). From June 3 to 17, the exams in specialty courses will follow, with a gap in between, due to the European elections, between June 5 and 11.

Notably, the exams of the special courses will be held from 18 to 28 June 2024.

Similarly, the conduct of the Health Examinations and Practical Test of the candidates (GEL and EPAL) for admission to the Physical Education and Sports Science Departments (TEFAA) from June 17 to 28.
