The prohibition of public outdoor gatherings and any kind of possible marchesfrom 8 a.m. on Sunday until 8 p.m., the Thessaloniki Police Department announced as part of the measures to be taken for the Aris – PAOK football derby, at the Kleanthis Vikelidis stadium.

In particular, fan gatherings and marches around the hotels where the missions of Aris and PAOK will take place, before they go to the stadium for the game between them, are prohibited.

More specifically, the ban applies:

– In the wider area around the hotel where the sports mission of the PAOK football team is staying, and specifically on the beach front, from the Garden of the Afternoon Sun (at the height of Vassiliou Hadzi Street) to the Traffic Management Park (at the height of Paraskevopoulos Street), including the two parks, of the paved area and the entire beach front between the two Parks, on Megalou Alexandrou Avenue from the height of Vassiliou Hatzi Street to the height of Paraskevopoulou Street, in the Park in front of the hotel, surrounded by Megalou Alexandrou Avenue, Paraskevopoulou Street, Al. Michailidis, Filopimenos, as well as in the wider area of ​​the roads of the route of the mission to the KLEANTHIS VIKELIDIS Stadium (Harilaou stadium), i.e. Avenue of Alexander the Great – March – Delphi – Gregory V – Larissa – Xyngopoulos – Matthaios, as well as any other possible route due to emerging emergency.

– In the wider area around the accommodation hotel of the sports mission of the football team of ARIS and compared to the section bounded by the following streets: Kalochoriou and 26th of October (flow east and flow west) from the height of Kalochoriou street to the height of Letous street , as well as in the wider area of ​​the roads of the mission’s route to KLEANTHIS VIKELIDIS Stadium (Charilaou Stadium), i.e. 26th of October – KTEL MAKEDONIA roundabout – Piraeus A/D Athens Thessaloniki Evzonon – Piraeus A/D Athens Thessaloniki Evzonon – Vegetable Market Roundabout (K16) – Inner Peripheral of Thessaloniki, A/D Thessaloniki-N. Moudanion – K. Karamanli – Grigoriou V’ – Larisis, Xygopoulos – Matthaiou- Al. Papanastasiou, as well as any other possible route due to an emerging emergency (Article 7 of Law 4703/2020 & Article 8 of Law No. 73/2020).

As stated in the relevant announcement of the General Police Directorate of Thessaloniki, the realization of the aforementioned gatherings – marches a) poses a serious risk to public safety due to the possible commission of serious crimes, in particular against life, physical integrity, property and state authority and b) there is a serious threat of disruption of socio-economic life, vehicular and pedestrian traffic and the operation of infrastructure and public facilities in the specific areas.
