Today was issued the no. 5862/22.05.2024 Decision of the EFET on suspension of approval of the company’s cooked food production facility
The suspension of the operation of the “Giannitsis” factory after the mass food poisoning of students in schools of Lamia was decided by the Hellenic Food Control. The meals had been prepared by the company, in whose factory a fire broke out on Sunday night.
In particular, the Ministry and OPECA announced the suspension of the distribution of school meals to the primary schools of the Municipality of Lamia following the decision of EFET to suspend the operation of the contractor company under the name “YIANNITSIS LOGISTICS S.A.”
OPECA, the implementing body of the school meal program, after the parents’ complaints, requested directly from EFET and the Directorate of Public Health and Social Care of the Region of Central Greece, control of the company’s production unit.
Today was issued the no. 5862/22.05.2024 Decision of the EFET on suspension of approval of the cooked food production facility of the company with the name “GIANNITSIS LOGISTICS SA”.
Following this decision, the provision of school meals to the primary schools of the Municipality of Lamia which participate in the program is also suspended.
