“We would expect more restraint and less fake news from the president of the party who, while he was in power, made the country a bottleneck in development and only reduced the purchasing power of all Greeks,” said the representative of the ND
The representative of New Democracy accuses of “alternative reality campaign” and “fake news”, Nikos Romanos him Stefanos Kasselakison the occasion of the latest statements of its president SYRIZA.
Nikos Romanos’ statement in more detail:
“Mr. Kasselakis stars in an alternative reality campaign! On the day that the highest positive wage labor balance performance since 2001 is announced, the president of SYRIZA visits DYPA presenting a false and nihilistic picture of work in the country. The Government knows much better than Mr. Kasselakis that the imported precision is gnawing at the incomes of the citizens, for this reason and during its days 50 taxes were reduced, the minimum wage was increased by 27%, the average wage was increased by 19%, pensions were increased and they saw for the first time after 15 years, civil servants increased, while a series of VAT reductions was made permanent. At the same time, the ND Government imposed 19 million euros in fines on multinationals, imposed a ceiling on the prices of basic necessities, taxed the surplus profits of refineries and energy companies for the first time, and fought precision using every tool inside and outside the borders. Apparently when Mr. Kasselakis talks about the incomes of the citizens which in 2021, 2022 and 2023 recorded a cumulative increase of 18.6% recording the third highest performance in the EU, he forgets that the 18% of our fellow citizens who were unemployed , had practically zero income in 2019 and today this percentage reaches single digits for the first time!
We would expect more restraint and less fake news from the president of the party who, while he was in power, made the country a tailwind in growth and only reduced the purchasing power of all Greeks at a time when not only was there no imported inflationary crisis, but it was “raining” global growth and quantitative easing, with SYRIZA holding an umbrella. And it takes a lot of courage for the president of this party to talk about “arrogance”! There is no greater arrogance than the mockery of citizens, lefto trees and the instrumentalization of every real difficulty for personal political gain!”
