A 46-year-old mother and her 27-year-old son had deceived a 22-year-old from Bulgaria, who was extradited to Thessaloniki for 13 months, while at the same time threatening both her and her relatives.

Police officers from the Organized Crime and Human Trafficking Sub-Directorate of the Thessaloniki Security Directorate identified the evidence and filed a case against two foreigners aged 46 and 27 (mother and son) for the crime of human trafficking.

It was preceded by the complaint of the 22-year-old foreigner, according to which the above, using threats of violence and threats against the life of herself and her relatives, during the period from 01-17-2023 to 02-22-2024, exploited the for a fee, issuing it to customers in the area of ​​Giannitsson Street, Thessaloniki.

Specifically, as emerged from the police investigation, the 46-year-old approached the 22-year-old while she was in Bulgaria and through a fraudulent offer to work in a restaurant in Thessaloniki, managed to convince her to travel to Greece. Upon her arrival, both the 46-year-old woman and her son informed her that she had to have sex with clients for a monetary fee, which they withheld extortionately, without the 22-year-old taking any part of them.

In addition, in the context of the ongoing investigation, it was established that, in order to enter Greek territory, despite the pending administrative entry ban against her, she married a Bulgarian national and changed her last name in accordance with the local legislation.

The above-mentioned woman was located by police officers of the arrested Service on Giannitsson Street, who, after apologizing for the acts attributed to her, was taken to the Thessaloniki Immigration Management Department of the Thessaloniki Aliens Directorate, for further action.

The relevant case file will be submitted to the competent Prosecutor.
