A pit bull dog attacked and injured a woman, while it devoured her small dog, resulting in its death. The incident happened in the morning in the area of ​​Evosmos, in Thessaloniki, with the woman being taken to the on-call hospital, where she underwent surgery. The Police arrested a 47-year-old Bulgarian national who was allegedly responsible for guarding the pit bull, while its 41-year-old owner, also a Bulgarian national, appears to be absent abroad, but is included in the same case file.

The prosecutor brought criminal charges against both men for the killing of a companion animal, by complicity, by omission and possible intent, as well as by causing grievous bodily harm, by complicity, by omission and potential intent. The arrested person was referred to apologize to the 3rd regular investigator of Thessaloniki.

According to the case file, the pit bull appears to have gone under the fence and attacked the Maltese dog. In her attempt to protect the small animal, its owner (about 60 years old) was attacked and suffered serious injuries.
