The Tourism Department of Curaçao, a paradise island belonging to the Netherlands, made an agreement with Globo to produce a special edition of Caldeirão, presented by Marcos Mion, on that piece of land south of the Caribbean Sea.
With a length of 60 km and a width varying between 3 km and 12 km, Curaçao was colonized by the Dutch and mixes more than 50 ethnicities. The majority of the 170,000 inhabitants are of African and European descent.
The venue did not make an advertising payment to the station. The investment was in logistics for the recordings, as well as travel and accommodation for the team, presenters and guests.
Globo will show the beauty of the country in its pictures — as it is a good option for a family vacation, for example. The bet on Marcos Mion and Globo was not by chance. The island wishes to attract part of the Brazilian public that travels to Miami, in the United States, to its domains.
In addition to the beauty, tickets to Curaçao have attractive prices. They vary, according to data provided by official bodies in the country, between R$2,700 and R$5,600 per person, on flights leaving São Paulo. Prices are similar to those charged for trips to the American city.
The recordings in Curaçao were held last weekend, between the 21st and 23rd of this month, and the local Tourism Department invited natives and guests of the largest local hotel to participate in the program.
In addition to Marcos Mion, names such as comedian Marcelo Adnet were in the country for the recordings of Caldeirão with Mion. The special is expected to air in July.
Wanted by F5Globo confirmed the partnership between Curaçao and the broadcaster.
