According to information, the particular message about bombs, which was eventually proved to be a hoax, bears similarities to mails that were sent about two weeks ago to schools in Cyprus and Slovakia. In fact, in all cases the sender appears to be from Russia.

In any case, there was an immediate mobilization by the Greek Police to carry out the relevant control in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and the school units, while the Electronic Crime Prosecution Directorate is already conducting an investigation to identify the sender.

The safety of the citizens and especially the student community is the main concern and first priority for the Ministry of Citizen Protection and the Hellenic Police and to this end all necessary actions will be taken to uncover the perpetrator.
