The Joint Jury Court of Appeals decided today to accept the request of the lawyers of Petros Filippidis to postpone the trial scheduled for today for the two attempted rapes against his female colleagues, acts for which the actor was sentenced to 8 years in prison in the first instance suspension.

As it has become known, Petros Filippides presented to the court a paper from the two lawyers of Michalis Dimitrakopoulos and Kikis Pakirtzidos, with which he requested that the procedure be postponed as both stated that they were unable to attend due to the adjudication of other cases they have undertaken in the province. A request that the district attorney described as justified.

Despite the objections of the lawyers supporting the charges, who believed that instead of an adjournment there could be an interruption, the court finally decided to grant the requested adjournment and a new trial was set for November 11, 2024.

We remind you that in the first instance, Petros Filippidis was found not guilty beyond reasonable doubt of the first and heaviest charge of continuous rape that he was facing, but he was found guilty of the two attempted rapes.

The decision of the court of first instance was issued in February 2023 and with it an 8-year suspended sentence was imposed until the hearing of the appeal on the actor for the two acts for which he was found guilty.

Leaving the appeals court, he said that he will talk about everything when the process is completed.
