With the participation of a large number of people, yesterday, Sunday, June 2, the event of the Municipality of Meteora with balloons and entitled “Meteor Sound and Light” took place in Theopetra Kalambakas.

It is a unique event with the aim of promoting the landscapes of the area, organized by the company Explore DMC in collaboration with the Municipality of Meteora.

The choice of Theopetra for this event is not accidental, as reported by the Municipality of Meteora.

The name of the area, which means “stone of God”, is associated with the experience of floating in the sky in a hot air balloon.

In his statements to the Athenian-Macedonian News Agency, the mayor of Meteora, Lefteris Avramopoulos, emphasized: “On Sunday afternoon in Theopetra we lived a unique experience. When I was proposed the unprecedented spectacular event with balloons entitled “Meteor Sound and Light” I never expected that it would be embraced by such a large mass attendance. We may not have succeeded as we expected to satisfy our little friends to enjoy the magical experience of flying balloons, however it is an event that raises us as a municipality high and shows the way of extroversion, which we must follow. We managed to promote the area of Theopetra, which has a unique archaeological site as it is the only museum exclusively of early prehistory in Greece, based on the findings of the cave of Theopetra. Starting tomorrow, together with my partners and the Explore DMC company, we will work on the big event in September, which is expected to be an unrepeatable experience both for our region and for its visitors.”

“We continue through our strategic planning to promote the landmarks of our municipality, as we have promised. We create a cohesive and unified identity. In this identity, each village, each region and each community is an important part of the chain that makes up our municipality. See you in September, where young and old alike will live the experience of floating, creating a … bridge of dreams between the earth and the sky”, added Mr. Avramopoulos.
