For “false information about the unsuitability of drinking water in the Municipality of Volos” broadcast by the media, the Municipality speaks with an announcement, stressing that “there is no problem with the water in the water supply network of Volos, as explicitly certified by the results of the controls” which ” were announced only last week” while noting that the checks continue normally at regular intervals and all the prescribed measures are taken ensuring the suitability of the water with which the city is supplied.

Specifically, the Municipality of Volos states in its announcement:

“Unfortunately, in the last few days, on the occasion of the unfortunate incident with the cases of gastroenteritis in Rizomylo and Stefanovikio, the Pan-Hellenic Media, but also known for their role locally, have been broadcasting false information about the unsuitability of drinking water in the Municipality of Volos, causing either unintentionally ( due to ignorance) or willful confusion and disturbance.

We make it clear in the most categorical way that there is no problem with the water in the water supply network of Volos, as explicitly certified by the results of the tests for the detection of pathogenic organisms, carried out by the Ministry of the Environment (General Secretariat for the Environment and Waters and the Natural Environment and Climate Organization Change OFYPEKA) in collaboration with DEYAMB, and were announced just last week.

In addition to these controls, the controls of DEYAMB continue as normal at regular intervals defined by the current Legislation and all the prescribed measures are taken (chlorination, maintenance, etc.) ensuring the suitability of the water with which the city is supplied.”
