A pursuit took place in the early hours of Wednesday in Halkida by the Immediate Action near Halkidikis Street – A young man was arrested.
According to information from eviathema.gr, it was shortly before 01:00 when police officers, during a patrol on the streets of Chalkida, spotted a suspicious vehicle, which they signaled to stop for a check.
The driver of the vehicle refused to stop for a check and began to speed away with the policemen starting to chase him.
In his attempt to escape the car veered off course, with the driver still continuing his attempt to escape when he reversed and started heading towards the police officers who were miraculously uninjured.
The officers fired at the vehicle’s tires to stop it, with the driver fleeing in an unknown direction.
A few hours later, the men of the Immediate Action after identifying the perpetrator whom they located and arrested.
On Wednesday morning, he was brought before the prosecutor facing several charges, including that of attempted murder.
