The KEPY-EKAB has put the country’s Health Formations on heightened alert to take care of all preventive actions to deal with possible malfunctions due to the upcoming heat wave. The forces of EKAV have also been put on heightened alert throughout the country to deal with incidents of heat stroke or drowning due to the accumulation of citizens on the beaches.

The basic instructions of EKAB to citizens regarding heat stroke state the following:

If you experience, after prolonged exposure to a hot (and humid) environment, headache, high fever (over 41 to 42 degrees Celsius), rapid heart rate, discomfort, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, loss of consciousness, or the skin becomes dry, hot and very red these are some of the symptoms of heatstroke (a large increase in the heat of the human body because its elimination is prevented due to the high and humid temperature of the environment).

Help – Instructions

If you are faced with a case of heatstroke, the following should be done until a doctor arrives or the patient is taken to a hospital:

1/ The heat stroke person, without delay, should be moved to a shaded, cool and if possible ventilated place.
2/ To lie on his back and remove all those who, out of curiosity or interest, prevent him from ventilating.
3/ To be supplied with air using any handy means (fans, cardboards, etc.).
4/ To remove heavy clothes, to place cold patches and to wet his whole body with cold water.
5/ If at that moment the heatstroke victim can drink liquids, we take advantage of this possibility
