A 13-year-old child was at risk of Euboea, as he almost choked on a skewer, however, he was saved by a friend of his age who met him Heimlich maneuver.

The group, all high school students, after the exams went to the port of Aliveri, to bathe and then eat kebabs. One of the children almost choked as a bite blocked his airway and he could not breathe.

But the 13-year-old “rescuer” ran towards him and giving him the Heimlich maneuver, i.e. special abdominal thrusts, which proved to be a lifesaver.

The incident was made known by a person who sent a message to Evia Rescue Teamas he was informed by the parents of the child who saved the 13-year-old.

“I want to share with you an event that happened today in our place with a 1st grade student of Aliveri Gymnasium.

Tonight I received a message from a parent who excitedly told me that while his son was eating rounds with his friends in a shop in the Port of Karavos, one of the children in the group put a big bite in his mouth, resulting in him block the airway and be unable to breathe.
