Moments of anxiety and terror were experienced on Thursday afternoon by a woman in the center of Thessaloniki, when her 2.5-year-old child was trapped inside the car for 30 minutes. It took the intervention of the Fire Department and the Police to end the child’s adventure and the woman’s agony.

According to information from thestival.gr, around 19:30 the woman parked her car on Nikolaou Germanou Street, opposite the HANTH, in the center of the city. After turning off the engine of the vehicle, she left the keys on the dashboard of the vehicle and then attempted to take her baby boy in her arms from the baby carrier that was in the back seat of the car. She got out of the vehicle and without realizing it closed the door, as a result of which the car doors were locked and her 2.5-year-old boy was at risk of heat stroke, since the windows were closed and the keys were inside the vehicle.

The Fire Brigade and the Greek Police were called to the incident. Firefighters with the assistance of police officers, who immediately rushed to the scene, managed to open the rear window and then gain access to the driver’s door and open it. The adventure for the only 2.5-year-old boy had fortunately ended after about half an hour.
