In his statements to APE-MPE, the mayor of Erymanthos Achaia, Theodoros Baris, spoke of a very difficult night.

With the assistance of ELAS, as he said, many evacuations of citizens have been carried out in a safe direction.

“It has developed great momentum and all forces are making superhuman efforts to contain it. They are operating 120 firefighters with 4 teams of pedestrian departments 43 vehicles and periodically until the last light a total of 19 aerial vehicles will be operating. In addition, he noted that according to the Fire Risk Forecast Map for Saturday 22/6, a very high risk of fire is predicted in Attica, Central Greece and the Peloponnese.

During the extinguishing, according to safe information, the firefighter was exposed to the flames and his colleagues took him to the hospital.

He received first aid from the doctors and left without needing hospitalization.

In addition, a policeman who participated in the order measures due to the fires in Ilia, felt unwell and was taken to the Pyrgos hospital, where the doctors decided to treat him to the heart attack unit.
