We love meatballs but we always eat them the same way. And while there is no problem with red sauce or french fries, there are a whole host of other possibilities waiting to be realized.

Below you will find the recipe for chicken meatballs with ginger. In addition to being delicious, we love these meatballs for their versatility and versatility. You can make them with minced turkey or pork instead of chicken, you can fry them instead of baking them and they are an excellent accompaniment to everything from rice to grilled vegetables.

For 4 servings you will need:

1 large egg

1 teaspoon salt

2 fresh onions, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, finely chopped

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

Or a cup of breadcrumbs

1 kg of minced chicken

for the sauce

100ml soy sauce

30ml rice vinegar without spices

1 tablespoon brown sugar

Or teaspoon of sesame oil

2 teaspoons grated ginger

1 clove garlic, grated

Or onion, grated

1 tablespoon corn flour

Steamed white rice, sliced ​​carrots, sliced ​​cucumbers, chopped cabbage, sliced ​​onion and sesame, for serving

How to make it:

For the meatballs:

Preheat the oven to 200 ° C. Lay a baking tray with non-stick paper.

In a large bowl, mix the eggs, salt, onion, garlic, ginger and breadcrumbs. Add the chicken minced meat and mix with clean hands until smooth.

With your hands or a spoon, form meatballs and put it in the pan. Bake until the meatballs are golden brown and fully cooked, 20 to 25 minutes.

For the sauce:

In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, sesame oil, ginger, garlic and onion and simmer slightly.

In a small bowl, mix the corn flour with 1 tablespoon cold water and stir with a teaspoon to combine. Add it to the soy-sesame mixture, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens slightly. Remove from the heat and set aside.

To serve, gently roll the meatballs in the sauce or serve on the side. Serve with steamed white rice and various raw vegetables, such as sliced ​​carrots, cucumbers, chopped cabbage and onion. Garnish with sesame seeds.
