A 50-year-old foreigner was arrested yesterday (July 1, 2024) in the morning in the area of Thermaikos municipality in Thessaloniki, by police officers of the Public Security Group of the Poligyros Security Department, as he had a pending arrest warrant issued against him by the Halkidiki Investigator for the crimes of the criminal organization, grand theft and theft.
The 50-year-old, a citizen of North Macedonia, according to voria.gr, showed the police a fake identity card and a fake driver’s license. It is noted that, at the time of the arrest, he pushed the police in order to avoid arrest.
In a search of his home, various burglary tools (screwdrivers, glass cutters, etc.), the sum of 1,120 euros, 1 mobile phone and 1 laptop computer were found and confiscated. Also, against him was pending a Will of the Council of Misdemeanor Penalties for violating the conditions imposed on him, as well as a decision of the Three-member Misdemeanor Court of Edessa, according to which he was sentenced to 13 months in prison for attempted theft, possession and use of a third party’s travel document.
