By re-election Giorgos Stassinos in the position of President of the TEE for 4th consecutive term and of the new Presidium of the DE/TEE, the special election meeting of the Delegation of the TEE was completed, after the elections of May 19, on the three-day period 5-7 July 2024 in Athens.

In record time for the TEE election data, i.e. in 1.5 months from the attendance of the engineers at the polls throughout the country, the Chamber of Engineers acquires new administrative bodies for the next period, while their composition, from representatives of many and of different factions, captures the “colorful” area of engineers. It is noted that, historically, the formation of the governing bodies of the TEE required multiple meetings and a period of several months to complete, something that only happened this year and in 2019 in such a short period of time.

The current President of the TEE and head of the majority, in the May 19 elections, Democratic Movement of Engineers (DKM), George Stasinos, was re-elected to the position of President, for a full 4-year term until 2028, prevailing with an absolute majority over all members of the TEE Delegation in one vote, and by a very large margin, of his opponent Anastasiou (Tasso) Iliascoming from the Democratic Union of Engineers (DISYM).

The leader of the second in votes in the November 3rd elections faction, Democratic Alliance of Engineers (DISYM), Nikos Milis, was elected President of the TEE Delegation on Friday. The Presidium of A/TEE was also elected Protonotary Antonios (1st Vice-President, Alliance for a Progressive TEE), Georgios Tsakoumis (2nd Vice-President, DCM), Giannikouris Antonios (General Secretary, DCM), Ioannis Dwarf (Deputy General Secretary, ElEM).

In addition to the President of the TEE Giorgos Stassinos, the following were elected to the board of the Steering Committee: Antonia Moropoulou (Tonia) (1st Vice President, DIPAM), Tsonis Panagiotis (2nd Vice President, DCM), Patavras Eleftherios (General Secretary, DISYM), Ilias Anastasios (Tassos) (Deputy General Secretary, DISYM).

After the election of the governing bodies of the Chamber, the President of the TEE Giorgos Stasinos said: “A few weeks ago the engineers of the country with their increased participation in the elections, at a time when the participation of the people is decreasing but also with the choices of persons and factions that they did, gave a clear message that the TEE and the technical world want and can continue to contribute to a better future for the country, with more jobs for everyone, with sustainable growth for the economy and a social dividend for the citizens.

Now that we have quickly completed the election of the TEE’s administrative bodies, I personally want to say a big thank you to the colleagues who voted for me in the elections and to those who elected me for a fourth consecutive term as President of the TEE. Their preference is a vote of confidence to continue the work we do, to produce tangible results, with a plan and determination. It is justification for the effort we made for more and better jobs for engineers, for an upgraded role of the TEE, for a more modern, green, digital Greece with Greek Engineers as the driving force.

But it is not a time for celebrations, but for work. We will continue on the same path of work and efficiency. With more emphasis on digital actions, with an eye on establishing the Building Information Model in the technical world, by investing in valuable tools, ethical exploitation and innovative Artificial Intelligence processes. With the will to upgrade the work of the Greek Engineer, his professional and scientific role. With a clear orientation to sustainable development and environmental protection, through innovative actions, new materials, certified processes, advanced standards. Because we deeply believe that a green and digital Greece, with cutting edge engineers and the technical world, is possible. Today. So that tomorrow we will have a green and advanced Motherland, rich again.”
