Intensive police investigations to locate the four fugitive Cretans
The police have issued arrest warrants for four Cretans who are allegedly involved in the mammoth hashish plantation case in Kournas Apokoronou. Investigations continue at an intensive pace, as the authorities have launched a manhunt to locate and arrest them.
Pretrial detention for the first arrested
It is recalled that four men have already been arrested and remanded in custody since July 1 following their apologies. They are three Greeks and one Albanian, who were arrested during a large police operation carried out in the areas of Mylopotamos, Apokoronos and Malevizi.
Charges and forfeitures
All those involved in the case are accused of participating in a criminal organization engaged in the cultivation of cannabis seedlings and the trafficking of narcotics. In addition, they are charged with violations of weapons laws.
The police investigation revealed not only the huge hashish plantation with 1,530 saplings in Apokoronas, but also mini-plantations in various locations, as well as amounts of more than 45,000 euros, weapons and precision scales in houses and other places owned by the accused.
Ongoing investigations
The police continue their search for the four Cretans who are evading arrest. The authorities are determined to bring to justice all those involved in this serious case which affects the local community and confidence in the rule of law.
