A great disturbance was caused last night at Argos Orestikos of Kastoria, when a large bear became trapped – for an unknown reason – in the center of the city.

Initially the animal spotted a group of young people, who saw it running panicked in central streets of the small town. The police and the fire brigade were immediately informed and a big fire was set up business for release of the animal.

Authorities asked residents to remain calm and follow their instructions, avoiding approaching the animal.

With the help of the employees of the Kastoria Forest Service and with the use of firecrackers, the bear, after two hours, was led to the exit of the city.

In fact, according to testimonies of residents, in another part of the city there was the presence of one little bearwhich seems to have been the baby her, who, for some reason, was separated from his mother.

The mayor of Argos Orestikou, Panagiotis Kepaptsoglou, who from the first moment was at the scene, participating in the efforts to free the animal, clearly disturbed by the development of the event, but also by the continuous incidents of the presence of a bear in residential areas, told the local media of Kastoria that in the next period “everything will change for those who think we can all live together”.

“I send the message to all those who try to pass that we live together, I tell them that I am present here. But they are absent from everywhere today. And we’ll see you along the way. Those who know me, know who Panos Kepatsoglou is. We will tell each other from here on what will happen.
