The 84-year-old man who was arrested in an area outside Veria for tying a large dog to his farm car and dragging it while the vehicle was in motion has been released on a prosecutor’s order – pending a preliminary examination that is ongoing.
A passer-by recorded the specific action with his mobile phone, posting the video on social media. Based on this material, a complaint was filed with the Police, following which the elderly man was arrested and taken to the district attorney of Veria.
The public prosecutor decided to lift his detention, so that the investigation could be completed and the result of the veterinary examination included in the case file, in order to subsequently decide on his criminal treatment.
