Ten people lost their lives and 538 were injured (10 seriously, 528 slightly) in 474 road accidents and accidents, which occurred in February 2022, in the region of Attica.
According to the Attica Traffic Directorate, the main causes of these accidents were reckless driving and carelessness, violation of license plates and violation of traffic rules by pedestrians, while the non-use of protective helmets by drivers and passengers of two-wheelers intensified, in in many cases, the severity of their injury.
At the same time, during the same period of time, within the framework of the targeted actions implemented by the Attica Traffic Directorate for the traffic policing and the upgrading of the road safety level, 17,214 violations were confirmed, out of which 637 in the degree of misdemeanor.
Indicatively confirmed:
– 243 offenses for driving under the influence of alcohol, of which 28 were misdemeanor
– 1,682 speed limit
– 154 for red light violation
– 213 for mobile phone use
– 455 for not using a seat belt
– 414 for non-use of protective helmet
– 37 for dangerous maneuvers
