Touching moments unfolded on the sixth anniversary of the fire in Mati, today Tuesday, the day of the tragedy that left behind 104 dead.
Shortly after 18:00 in the afternoon, a memorial service was held at the Memorial of the Victims, in Neos Voutzas. After the trisayo and the invocation of the dead, a procession was held towards Mati, which ended at Argyra Akti.
There the relatives lit 104 lanterns, which they threw into the sea in memory of the victims. The image was particularly moving.

The events started at 9 am with a Memorial Service, at the Holy Church of Agios Ioannis, in Neo Voutza.
Representing the Prime Minister, Minister of State Makis Voridis, in his post on social media, states: “Six years after the deadly fire, we stand with respect in the memory of the victims. It is our duty to never allow what happened to Mati to happen again,” he underlines in closing.
