The amount corresponds to 76.2 million euros after the 2023 floods
3,274,292.87 euros were paid today, as an advance payment of 50% of the state aid grant, to 862 businesses, agricultural holdings and livestock units affected by the flooding phenomena of September 2023.
With the above payment, a total of 60,809,128.33 euros have been paid, as an advance payment, to 7,813 beneficiaries.
At the same time, in 4,848 cases of businesses, agricultural holdings and livestock units, the first aid of a total amount of 15,403,000.00 euros, which had been granted, was offset against the amount corresponding to the amount of the advance payment of 50% of the state aid grant. Therefore, as the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection emphasizes in its announcement, the phase of granting the advance payment of 50% of the state aid to businesses, agricultural holdings and livestock units, has been completed for 12,661 beneficiaries with the total amount of the grant reaching 76,212,128.33 euros.
It should be noted that in total, within the framework of first aid, both for first aid against a grant, and first aid against housing assistance, but also compensation for household goods, 182.7 million euros have been paid to 50,561 cases of beneficiaries. Therefore, taking into account the amounts of advances, a total of 243.51 million euros have been paid to approximately 58,375 cases of beneficiaries.
“So far, the process of advance payment of 50% of state aid for 12,661 businesses and farmers, an advance payment corresponding to 76.2 million euros, after the floods of 2023, has been completed,” said the Deputy Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, responsible for recovery from natural disasters and state aid, Christos Triandopoulos. “Therefore, the work of the services of the general secretariat of Natural Disaster Recovery and State Aid continues intensively in close cooperation with the committees and state aid levels of the Regions, achieving times – with loads – that have nothing to do with the past. Thus, within one week on average, from the submission of the integrated data for enterprises and agricultural holdings, 50% of the intended grant of state aid is paid by the services of the Regions. The flow continues from the Regions. With the continuation of the data flow, aid to businesses and agricultural holdings in Thessaly and the other regions affected by the extreme flooding phenomena of September 2023 is proceeding immediately. aid, approximately €243.5 million has been paid to support businesses, farmers and households affected by the floods of September 2023.”
In addition, as noted in the announcement, the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection continues intensively, in cooperation with the region of Thessaly and the region of Central Greece, the implementation of the state aid framework for businesses affected by the extreme flooding phenomena of September 2023, as well as to agricultural holdings and livestock units for their damage to their equipment, their foundations, land capital and other related from the same natural disasters. The framework includes (a) the grant of the first aid, (b) the grant of the advance payment of 50% of the state aid (incorporating the first aid granted), and (c) the grant of the final grant of the state aid (incorporating the advance granted), which reaches 70% of the estimated damage with a maximum limit of 500,000 euros. Thus, following the granting of first aid to businesses, agricultural holdings and livestock units affected by the unprecedented flooding phenomena, which has reached 80 million euros, the granting of the advance payment of 50% of the grant has started from December 2023 state aid.
Finally, as pointed out in the announcement, the general secretariat of Natural Disaster Recovery and State Aid, in a context of close cooperation with the committees and levels of state aid of the Region of Thessaly and the Region of Central Greece, continues the implementation of the framework of state aid, with emphasis – currently – in advance payments of 50% of the final grant depending on the flow of data from the Regions.
