A thorough investigation and preliminary investigation by the police officers of the Malevizi Police Department in Heraklion, resulted in the immediate investigation of the case of causing damage to foreign property at the expense of a business in Heraklion, when in the evening yesterday 29.07 an unknown person using a firearm, caused damage to the door of the business, in time when it was not working and no one was inside it.

From the utilization of data, a man of Greek origin was immediately identified, against whom a case was filed for violations of the legislation on weapons and damage to foreign property.

In the morning hours, today a coordinated police operation was carried out for the case, which included searches of the houses of the specific person and two others, in areas of the Municipality of Heraklion and the Municipality of Malevizio. Those in question were arrested for weapons and antiquities theft and cultural heritage offenses in general.

Police officers from the Malevizi Police Department participated in the operation in collaboration with police officers from the Crime Suppression Prevention Team of the Security Sub-Directorate of Heraklion and the Police Operations Departments of Heraklion and Messara.

During the searches, they found and seized: “a hunting gun, an air gun, fifty rounds of ammunition, a sword, a weapon accessory and armament maintenance items, three amphorae and parts of amphorae, and ceramic objects.

Also in Heraklion, a citizen was arrested against whom an arrest warrant was pending against the Investigator of the 3rd Criminal Investigation Department of Heraklion for attempted homicide and violations of the Weapons Legislation. The arrested person will be prosecuted.

Sta Chania in the area of ​​the Municipality, he was arrested by police officers of the Police Department for Combating Organized Crime of Crete with the assistance of police officers of the Security Sub-Directorate of Chania, a citizen, accused of violations of the Arms Legislation. In a search of the individual’s residence, a revolver, a stun gun, five cartridges (unfired) and various weapon accessories were found and seized. Also, two people (one citizen and one foreigner) were arrested this morning in the area of ​​the Municipality of Phaistos in Heraklion, by police officers of the Messara Police Operations Department, accused of drug-related offenses.

According to relevant information, in a search carried out by police officers in their homes, a quantity of raw cannabis of 39 grams, a grater and pepper spray were found and confiscated in total.
