In case of not affixing the marking, a fine of 1,000 euros is provided.
Taxis are now obliged to post a special sign informing customers of the obligation to accept payments by card.
This is defined (as well as the form of the marking) by the decision of the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance Christos Dimasfollowing a proposal by the governor of the Independent Public Revenue Authority Giorgos Pitsilis.
According to the decision, this is a special sticker, which is placed on the glass of the rear right door of the vehicle, and it reads in Greek and English the following:
The driver must:
- To issue a receipt at the end of the route.
- To accept payment by card.
Customer NOT is obliged to:
- To pay in cash.
- To pay before receiving the legal receipt.
The production of the sticker is done by AADE, with expenses covered by its budget, and it is available to the Panhellenic Taxi Federation, so that it can see to the implementation of the decision.
Taxis are required to affix the label to the vehicle within three weeks of receiving it from the Panhellenic Taxi Federation. In case of not affixing the marking, a fine of 1,000 euros is provided.
