The 29-year-old foreign operator of the speedboat was arrested as a smuggler.
In the morning hours yesterday, Friday, the Port Authority of Samos was informed of the existence of a suspicious high-speed boat that came from the Turkish coast and was heading towards the southeastern coast of Samos. Immediately, a patrol vessel LS-EL.AKT. went to the area, which spotted the speedboat. Its operator did not comply with the instructions of the L.S.-EL.AKT patrol boat. to stop and a pursuit ensued resulting in his arrest.
