The intense lightning activity throughout the country and especially in Attikoboiotia and Evia is the main cause of many of the fires that broke out today as the Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Vassilis Kikilias, states in his post on “X” while emphasizing that “in difficult , inaccessible forest areas, firefighters, pilots and civil protection forces gave and continue to give a great fight with all their forces”.
Specifically, Mr. Kikilias underlines:
Today more than 60 fires broke out, of which 45 after noon. The main cause is the intense lightning activity throughout the country and especially in Attikoboiotia and Evia.
