“Hit” EL.AS on a gang that robbed remittances – Watch video with the heavy weapons you had

Disbanded by the Property Crimes Department of the Attica Security Directorate, a gang that committed armed robberies in remittances in Attica, at the time of refueling ATMs.

According to ELAS, yesterday, Tuesday, March 1, after a coordinated operation, in Ilioupoli, Korydallos, Agios Dimitrios and Paiania, five men, aged 46, 48, 49, 51 and 53, were arrested as members of the criminal organization.

Two of the defendants, with their facial features covered, one with a motorcycle helmet and the other with a silicone mask, immobilized yesterday morning, with the threat of a pistol and a Kalashnikov assault rifle, a cashier, while he was refueling an AT in Barnabas Square in Pagrati. Soon after, they removed four boxes containing a large amount of money.

They then boarded a motorbike parked nearby to escape. However, due to a mechanical failure, the engine did not start and so they stopped a passing car, lowered the female driver, while later they abandoned it and escaped.

It is noted that the perpetrators always had their features covered, had heavy weapons, while bulletproof vests had also been procured. At the same time, they used stolen motorcycles, while after committing the robberies, they abandoned them in nearby places and escaped with a stolen car, in which they had placed fake license plates.

The communication codes between the arrested

The gang members used coded phrases to communicate with each other:

They called the ATM “friend”
“Short” or “Girlfriend” or “girl” was the remittance.
“You” was called the supermarket

According to ELAS, for the commission of the robberies they had the help of their accomplices, who acted as forerunners and “smokers”, in order to be informed both about the arrival of the remittance vehicle, as well as about the movements of the police.

Also, the defendants were very careful when using their mobile phones, while in their communications they spoke to each other with coded words.

ELAS carried out eight searches of homes and warehouses, in which, among other things, were found and confiscated the amount of 231,400 euros, two Kalashnikov assault rifles, six pistols, two revolvers, two carbines and air weapons, a number of cartridges, firearms Explosives and improvised explosive devices, shotguns, bulletproof vests, timers, portable radios, burglar tools, fake license plates, a variety of electronic devices and mobile phones, three cars and a motorcycle.

The investigation so far shows that the members of the gang have also committed two armed robberies in remittances and an equal number of thefts of motorcycles, while the accused have been accused in the past for a number of similar and other crimes.

The arrested will be taken to the Athens Public Prosecutor’s Office, while the police investigation continues for their participation in other criminal acts.
