The 66-year-old who is accused of setting four fires in the two days of June 8 and 9 in the area of Heroma Varis, Attica, took the road to prison. The 66-year-old is a university doctor, while he reportedly even taught at Greek Police schools, fifteen years ago.
According to information, in front of the investigator he denied the charge of arson with intent, claiming that he himself, at the disputed times of the fires, he was at his houseas he is a resident of the area.
For the video material that saw the light of day, the 66-year-old claimed that it is not him.
It is recalled that the professor was arrested on Monday morning by men from the Arson Crimes Directorate as part of an arrest warrant as a suspect in the fire that broke out in Vari on 19/6.
It is worth noting that the arrested person did not confess to the aforementioned fire, but admitted that he started four other fires with a lighter on 6/8 and 9 in dry grass in the Heroma Varis area. These four fires were contained in a short period of time.
His identification was made through testimonies and the collection of video material.
