Since the early hours of Wednesday morning, the autopsies of the three-member levels of the State Aid Committees of the Attica Region have been ongoing, on the businesses that suffered serious damage from the fire of August 11, in order to immediately compensate their owners, in accordance with state aid, as announced by the government.

Until this time:

  • In the area of ​​responsibility of the Directorate of Development of the Regional Unit of the Northern Sector of Athens, the teams, under the escort of the deputy governor of the Northern Sector of Athens, Loukias Kefalogiannis, have completed the inspections of 20 businesses that suffered damage in the area of ​​Chalandrio. Within the day, the relevant autopsies are expected to be completed in the area of ​​Penteli as well.
  • In the area of ​​responsibility of the Directorate of Development of the Regional Unity of Eastern Attica, the levels, under the escort of the deputy regional governor Vikis Cavallari, have completed the audits of 8 businesses that suffered damage in the Marathon area, of which 7 concern greenhouses and 1 livestock unit.

The autopsies of the businesses affected by the fire continue at an intensive pace and are expected to be completed tomorrow.

According to the prescribed procedure, the members of the State Aid Committees of the Region of Attica first carry out a vital check on the condition of each business, collect the required supporting documents from the legal owners of the businesses, issue the conclusion with the estimated damage and then submit the data to the competent services of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection so that the compensations are paid.

As the governor of Attica, Nikos Hardalias, states, “from the first moment, the entire state aid mechanism of the Attica Region has been activated. We are committed to supporting those affected in the most immediate and effective way. The recording and assessment of damages is our priority. Any business that suffered losses will be compensated without delay. We will continue with dedication and transparency, until the full recovery of the effects of the fire.”
