The 11 people have been released for now – Charged with obstructing traffic
Deadline to apologize on Tuesday, August 20 the 11 passengers who were arrested by the port authorities after yesterday’s intense episode which preceded them on the passenger ferry “super exrpess”, which was on a route to Rafina.
According to the port authority, the 11 people, among whom 8 are Roma and 3 citizens, were temporarily released and will have to appear at the Syros prosecutor’s office on Tuesday at one in the afternoon in the presence of lawyers and witnesses.
The 11 are accused of violating article 292 of the criminal code regarding obstructing transportation.
According to information, quarrel between them is said to have started from an observation that some of the passengers were making a lot of noise.
Members of the crew intervened yesterday to calm the situation, while the captain of the ship decided that due to the tension the situation is considered dangerous with the result that the “super exrpess” should return to the port of Tinos.
The ship ran the route from Thira-Io-Paros-Mykonos-Tino-Rafina.
