Five of the eight Israelis and Ukrainians, who were arrested at midnight on Monday, August 12, in Bullet and the Pelionas part of an operation by the Volos Narcotics Prosecution Department, the Attica Narcotics Prosecution Sub-Directorate and the Israeli Authorities, after hours of apologizing to the Volos Criminal Investigator which lasted until the late afternoon.

The 44-year-old leader of the organization, who was remanded in custody, was allegedly responsible for recruiting new members, coordinating operations and finding, transporting and delivering them to Israel. In front of the investigator, he confessed that he only undertook the transportation of the ketamine, while he claimed that he has problems with drugs and gambling himself.

Two of the three Israelis, according to their defense attorney, are drug addicts and have financial problems, for whom the accusation will be debunked. According to the advocate, the real perpetrators remain at large out there.

For the third member of Israeli origin, a public defense attorney was appointed.

According to the police, the three members who originate from Israel, aged 34, 35 and 39, the latter being a woman, are charged with receiving drugs and coordinating their transport from Greece to Israel, renting a boat vessel and concealing narcotics in it.

Of the three, only the 35-year-old Israeli will remain in prison until the trial, while the other two have been released.

The four Ukrainians, aged 37, 38, 38 and 39, were allegedly responsible for receiving the narcotics abroad and after importing them into Greece through neighboring Bulgaria, hiding them in caravans. The three men were remanded in custody until the trial, while the 38-year-old woman, the wife of one of the three, was released.

The chronicle

According to the police announcement, a thorough investigation by the police had revealed that the members had set up a multi-member criminal organization, with continuous and structured action and distinct roles, and were trafficking narcotics with the aim of obtaining a large sum of money. In particular, they procured narcotic substances from Western European countries, which they hid in mobile homes, with the aim of transporting and importing them into Greek territory. The narcotics were then transferred to a floating vessel, inside drums, with the final destination being Israel.

In Magnesia, the defendants allegedly appeared as tourists, who were staying in Pelion in two different places and who would come into contact for the drugs. From the searches carried out, among other things, 53 kilograms and 240 grams were found and confiscated. of narcotic substance MDMA, 50 kg and 250 g. of ketamine, 7 grams cannabis, 2,450 euros, 3,460 Israeli shekels, vehicle, 2 caravans, 13 mobiles and 14 drums. The illegal economic benefit of the criminal organization, taking into account its professional infrastructure, continuous action and geographical spread, is estimated to exceed 2,500,000 euros.
