One more dead from a traffic accident in Crete – Symbolic blocking of protest by BOAK
One more dead on the road network of Chania.
This time, a 33-year-old motorcycle driver, in the early hours of the morning, lost control of his machine and crashed into a PPC pillar, on the main road in the area of ​​the village of Alikianos.
His death was instantaneous as found by the EKAV rescuers who were immediately at the scene of the accident.
The causes of the fatal traffic accident are being investigated by the Chania Traffic Police.
In the meantime, a symbolic blockade of protest by BOAK will be held tomorrow Saturday 24/8/ at 5.00 pm at the height of the Galata junction, right above the spot where three young people lost their lives in a traffic accident last week.
As Yiannis Pavlakis, president of the Federation of Professional Craftsmen and Merchants of Chania Prefecture OVENH, points out, “in recent decades Crete has experienced a tragedy with dozens of dead at the altar of the asphalt of BOAK».
“The only region without a road network. With the last tragic event, the unjust death of the 3 children, the knot came to an end.” For this reason, merchants, artisans and professionals of the prefecture will participate in the mobilization with the main request for a new BOAK, modern and safe network, without project delays” he adds and emphasizes: “We must join our voices, for a safe road like it is worth it to us and our childrens”.
