The fire in Heraklion burns grassland and olive groves – A fire has broken out in a forest area in the area of Panagia Fthiotida
The fire is in full progress in an inaccessible area of Lofoupoli, Heraklion, which is burning grassland and agricultural crops with olive groves.
To put it out, two aerial vehicles of the P.Y are attempting to support the work of the ground forces, firefighters and EMODE. For fire fighting, water pipes of the municipality have been made available.

As the deputy governor of Civil Protection, Giorgos Tsapakos, told APE MPE, “the fire will be controlled quickly, the mobilization was immediate, residential areas are not threatened”.
Fire at Panagia Fthiotida
A fire has broken out in a forest area in the area of Panagia Fthiotida. According to the Fire Department, the fire broke out around 1:30 p.m. and does not threaten any settlement.
To extinguish it, 38 firefighters were mobilized with a group of pedestrians from the 4th EMODE, 13 vehicles and from the air 5 aircraft and a helicopter. Subscriptions are provided by local water bodies.
