On the occasion of the sensation caused by the news that the convicted owner of a “fatal” amusement park in Chalkida and Almyros, received a permit for a festival in Larissa, the Municipality of Larissa issued a statement in which it states:

“Citizens’ safety, ensuring conditions for smooth operation and protection from risks of any type are key priorities and non-negotiable principles in every event organized under the auspices of the Municipality of Larissa.

The same applies to the observance of the principles of legality, in any procedure related to a public tender.

Based on the announcement of the auction for the lease of the installation and operating area of ​​the amusement park, in Naplesin the context of the annual Larissa trade fair 2024 and specifically in the supporting documents for participation (art. 6 of the declaration), on penalty of disqualification, it was provided, among other things, “an extract from the criminal record, issued in the last quarter, from which it can be seen that he has not been convicted of an offense related to the exercise of his professional activity”.

During the auction process filed from the bidder the envelope of the required supporting documentsincluding his quote criminal recordwhich it was white (zero).

After the supporting documents were checkedthe competent Committee of the tender that had been set up for this purpose, proceeded to announce the highest bidder, as it should.

During the review process of the submitted supporting documents, authenticity confirmed of the aforementioned evidence”.

It is recalled that this particular businesswoman was convicted in 2 years imprisonment with a three-year suspension irrevocable for injuring a child in 2009, so he was ineligible, according to the terms of the competition, to participate.
