By his decision Central Port Authority of Volos swimming is prohibited on a large beach front that concerns the east and west of the wider area of ​​the city of Volosdue to the large quantities of dead fish washed up recently by the Carla Lake in the waters of Pagasitikos.

The Central Port Authority of Volos identifies the area by its extreme beach Agrias in the east and up to the beach of Agios Georgios Kynigon in the west, which includes dozens of urban and peri-urban beaches and beaches of the Volos Urban Complex and among them Anavros, Plakes, Nautikos Omilos, Akti Xenia, Alykes, Agios Stefanos , Amaryllis, Kritharia, Marathos, Amfanes where Blue Flags used to fly.

As officially announced, the ban on swimming was due to the extraordinary phenomenon of the presence of dead fish and the ban is valid until the Service is informed by the competent Water Directorate of the Decentralized Administration of Thessaly for the laboratory-confirmed suitability of the waters.
