The objects of archaeological interest that were confiscated were carefully hidden in two places in the wider area of Keratsini, Attica
Amphorae, a clay vase, and three ceramic vessels were located yesterday morning, as part of investigations by officers of the Directorate of Security and Protection of Maritime Borders (DAPTHAS) in collaboration with officers of the Security office of the Central Port Authority of Piraeus and with the assistance of officers of the Underwater Missions Unit (M.Y.A) of the Coast Guard-Hellenic Coast Guard, in Keratsini.
The objects of archaeological interest were carefully hidden in two places in the wider area of Keratsini, Attica and were confiscated.
In total, these are three amphorae, a clay vase and three ceramic vessels.
The confiscated items, which are likely to be subject to the protective provisions of Law 4858/2021 “Code of legislation for the protection of antiquities and cultural heritage in general”, bore obvious traces of a long stay at the bottom.
From the Central Port Authority of Piraeus, which is conducting the preliminary investigation, the competent Ephorate of Coastal Antiquities was informed about its own further actions.
