The woman who fought with the mayor of Tilos, because she complained about their arrival at the port, gives her own version of the incident with the rescue of 106 migrants in Tilos and her fight with the mayor of the island, Maria Kamma, in a Facebook post while she and her husband were fishing nearby, according to the mayor.

The woman, who goes by the name “Rita Lombardo” on Facebook, is said to be from Istanbul and works at the Turkish embassy in Athens.

“… I see this crowd of 100 people coming down with headscarves, beards and bowler hats with their mobiles in hand and completely dry, normal migration and NO immigration. As the lady in question was in front and seemed to be enjoying the sight with a big smile, I politely asked her where they were coming from and where they were going and how this small island could accommodate so many people. THAT WAS… the woman became frantic and screaming hysterically, I thought she was going to beat me” he says among other things.

“I took out my cell phone to record the whole situation because I understood that he wanted to create an issue. Then she also takes out hers and while taking mine out she started to lie indignantly and well that I told her to throw them into the sea. I didn’t speak, I didn’t answer because I already knew that I would denounce her for her lies. Unfortunately for her, there are witnesses and testimonies from people who were there, that all these were her words,” she continues.

“So for all of you who believed a horrible lie and started making accusations (of course those who supported me were many, many more) I have this to say.

Yes, I was in the harbor fishing, when I saw the huge harbor ship docked next to me, for a moment I say to myself… but what? war? then I see this crowd of 100 people coming down with headscarves, beards and turbans with their mobiles in hand and completely dry, normal migration and NO immigration.

And I wondered.. .that’s why Greek students don’t have to say their prayers in schools anymore?

And since the lady in question was in front and seemed to be enjoying the sight with a broad smile, I politely asked her where they were coming from and where they were going and how this small island could receive so many people.

THAT WAS…the woman was freaking out and screaming hysterically, I thought she was going to beat me up. You know, she tells me who I am, I tell her no, I say I’m the mayor, but you didn’t tell us who you are, she tells me. I introduced myself to her, said my name and took out my cell phone to record the whole situation because I understood that she wanted to create an issue. Then she also takes out hers and while taking mine out she started to lie indignantly and well that I told her to throw them into the sea. I didn’t speak I didn’t answer because I already knew that I would denounce her for her lies.

Unfortunately for her there are witnesses and testimonies from people who were there, that all these were her words. Also, from all those who reacted on fb, I saw and understood that this woman only has enemies and dislikes in her life, not many people seemed to support her, unlike me. It’s a pity for her, because if she was a little more educated she would have known how to handle them a bit better, while she fell into mistakes that she can’t correct, too bad.

And I thank all those who cursed me without even knowing the truth and even more thank you to the people who offered to help to show all this theater of the absurd.

Soon to you again…”.
