“Our staff did not comply with the prescribed protocols for the safe boarding and disembarking of passengers, as well as our company’s code of conduct”, states in today’s announcement the Hellenic Train for the incident that occurred last September 7 in Livadia, where the train doors were closed before a woman could get off.

As the company states, “we apologize for the incident … and from the thorough internal investigation that was conducted, we are disappointed to find that both the train drivers and the cabin attendants did not comply with the prescribed procedures.

We consider this incident to be unacceptable and will therefore impose strict sanctions on those involved in order to prevent similar incidents in the future. We take full responsibility and are sincerely sorry for this unfortunate incident.”

Hellenic Train’s statement concludes: “We are committed to further strengthening the training of our staff to ensure that such isolated cases do not recur. Our goal remains the continuous improvement of our services, with absolute priority the safety and trust of our passengers”.
