On the occasion of publications, which refer to the inaction of the prosecuting authorities to investigate rings of falsification of criminal records, the Prosecutor’s Office of the Supreme Court issued a statement, in which it is stated that it is already ongoing investigation to investigate complaints and at the same time it is being investigated “in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice, the entire system of issuing criminal records, with the aim of checking the reliability of the issued copies and the possible need to take further measures to ensure this”.
In particular, the announcement issued by the Prosecutor’s Office of the Supreme Court states:
“On the occasion of publications referring to the inaction of the prosecuting authorities regarding the investigation of specific complaints concerning the issuance of inaccurate criminal records but also the control of the entire system of issuance of criminal records, it is pointed out that:
1) The Prosecutor’s Office of the Supreme Court, as it always does in similar cases, has already ordered the investigation of the complaints received by it, to the competent Prosecutors’ Offices.
2) Further, in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice, the entire system of issuing criminal records is being investigated, with the aim of checking the reliability of the issued copies and the possible need to take further measures to ensure this”.
