Agony for the 69-year-old who was hit by his son with a speargun in Volos
The 69-year-old father from Volos is in critical condition at the Larissa University Hospital after being attacked by his 40-year-old son with a speargun.
The 69-year-old is intubated in the Intensive Care Unit of the PGNL after a long surgery. According to information, the 40-year-old son, after an intense fight with his father, used a speargun and managed to hit the 69-year-old twice.
The first shot wounded him in the chest, while in the second, the harpoon pierced his skull from one side to the other, behind the ear. Immediately, an EKAV ambulance transported the injured to the Volos Hospital, where the firefighters intervened to cut the metal harpoon in two places.
Afterwards, the 69-year-old was taken to the Larissa University Hospital, where he underwent neurosurgery to remove the harpoon from his head.
In the meantime, the 40-year-old who is said to be facing serious psychiatric problems with a history of hospitalizations, after the tragic event, “disappeared» and is searched for.
The police authorities are investigating the circumstances under which the incident took place, while investigations to identify the perpetrator are ongoing.
